Hey everyone! I’m Alexis, and I’m a Floridian living and working in Washington, DC. Before starting my job, I was a graduate student at American University for two years. I also lived in Ankara, Turkey and worked as a Fulbright English teacher at a public university for roughly a year. In the past seven years, I’ve been fortunate enough to study abroad, see different parts of the U.S., attend two inaugurations, intern in Washington, D.C., and win a government grant to live overseas.
One of my New Year’s resolutions for 2015 was to create a blog, and I’ve been hot and cold on the idea since then. What should I write about? What if I’m not a good enough writer? Deciding to move to Turkey was the catalyst I needed!
I wouldn’t describe myself as adventurous, but I always seem to find myself dreaming of traveling – returning to where I’ve been and planning where I want to go next. I want to use this blog as a way to not only share my adventures with you but to also help you find a way to have some adventures of your own!
